 Lectio   Jn 14,27-31a

Meditatio: "I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me.” Jn 14.30

Oratio: O God, You are omnipotent and have power over all.

I remember Jesus told His disciples that the ruler of the world is coming and He was not referring to His Father.  To whom was He referring? He was referring to the devil. In prayer seek to be preserved from the power of the Ruler of the World so that you may always follow the way and the rule of Jesus and His Father..

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "ruler....world....coming”; Jesus reminded us that the Devil is at work in the world and exercises power as ruler of it. However, God is mightier and higher and eternal while the Devil is subordinated to Him in all things; And unlike God, the Devil has a beginning and end. Seek the grace to live in accord with the ethics promoted by Jesus and the Devil will have no power over you and you will live in the peace of Christ forever.

 Tomorrow's reading: Jn 15.1-8
