5.16.15

Lectio:  Jn 17.11b-19

Meditatio: "Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.” Jn 17.11b

Oratio:  "O God, how you prize being!

I remember Jesus, as part of His farewell at the Last Supper,  prayed to You that His disciples “be one”  just at He and You are one. Being one rather than their doing was most important to Him and it must be for  us.  In prayer may Jesus’ prayer for us accomplish in us what He desires for us so that we may live as true siblings of His.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father  and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "Father.. be one....we...one”; Jesus’ prayer at His farewell contains His final wish for us - being one with God and being one with each other. Seek the grace to be one in heart and in mind with the Lord and reflect it in our relationships for being one is the very DNA of God and it is  our DNA as well for we are His children.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 16.29-33
